What is "Virus Video"?

“Virus Video” is promotion video clips on the internet.
In order to attract viewers, it tends to contain radical, sexual, violent, and humorous scenes, which it is difficult to broadcast in TV commercials.

For example, Carl’s Jr, a hamburger shop in the U.S. made a virus video that Paris Hilton was eating a hamburger and washing a car with sexy clothing.
The access rushed at
the video once.
It is noticeable, so it spread easily
like viruses by word to mouth with blog or email.
A virus video was made because You Tube and other similar websites got popular.
A virus video has good points that it takes fewer than TV commercials, and it is easy to count audience rating although its excessive explanation sometimes provokes viewers’ antipathy.

This way of promotion is enormous expanse in the U.S. now, and Japan emphasizes it as well.

Nintendo DS!!

Nintendo DS is a recent popular game machine!!
I would like to buy one to my friends or family because of its usefulness and cost.

Former software was just for entertainment.
Children or some adults play games.
However, Nintendo produced software for study, information, and housework.
For example, it is possible to study English and kanji.
My mother says she wants to study Kanji for the kanji examination.
People can search recipes, and there is software for household accounts as well.

In addition, Nintendo DS is not expensive.
The cost is just 15,000 yen.
A blue one, which is Nintendo DS lite, is about 13,000 yen.
Also, software is 3,000 to 4,000 yen.
I am always needing money, but it is possible for me to buy one.

There are much more interesting and useful software, so people can use one in many situations.
Moreover, it is cheap, so anyone can buy ones.

What is Net Neutrality?

People in the U.S. make the argument about Net Neutrality, which is the idea that ways to use the Internet and its costs should be fair.

Today, the quantity of data in the Internet is increasing, for example, people can watch videos and listen to music on the Internet.
As the responsibility of the providers are increasing, their profits are decreasing.
Thus, they send data of the pay video service to users or precede users who pay additional charge in order to get more profits.

However, Google and Yahoo are against the providers.
They insist that providers should not make priority sequence because other Internet services would be difficult to use.
Providers, on the other hand, state that if Google and Yahoo claim the equality of sending data, they should pay for infrastructure.

This discussion will still continue...

Recent News

I know two of recent news about computers: expensive cell phone and iPhone.

In 2008 fall, the incredibly expensive cell phone will be sold in Japan.
It is made by Nokia, which produces the quality cell phone brand, Vertu.
Amazingly, it costs several millions yen because it is handmade, and decorated with jewels and metal.
Today, it is sold in Vertu shops and over 370 high-class watch and jewel shops in 48 of foreign countries.
Softbank mobile will have the section to sell the cell phone.

IPhone is sold in the U.S. in June 29.
There are two varieties, which cost 60 to 70 thousands yen.
It is said that iPhones have nearly sold out.
Some analysts estimate that 40 thousands iPhones would be sold for several days.
However, many people do not want to buy the first iPhone because of the cost and net speed. They expect better one.

Web Sites

Here are three interesting web sites.

First, I would recommend Animal Photo Galleries.
You can see many kinds of animal pictures in this site.
For example, there are animals in African Savanna such as giraffes, cheetahs, and Zebras, and in the Amazon like a poison dart frog, which is a vivid blue frog, macaws, and some kinds of colorful birds.
Also, many panda pictures are in this site.
Especially, the baby’s photos are really cute.
The baby totally looks like a soft toy.
Next, you would want to see pandas more, so the Memphis Zoo site is beneficial.
There is a panda in the zoo, and you can watch the video of the panda anytime.
Finally, Japan National Tourist Organization is also interesting because it is possible to learn Japanese culture, foods, and tourist attractions in English.
I found other prefectures’ traditional or local dishes that I have not known.
I have not heard Houtou in Yamanashi.
It is like flat wheat noodles in miso-based soup with mashed pumpkin or other vegetables.
I want to try it.

If you are interested in some, please go to the sites, especially panda's one!!

What is Social Engineering?

Social Engineering is ways to get significant inside information about security like passwords or credit card numbers.
The attackers impose on a little carelessness of humans.

For example, they listen or look such information secretly.
They steal a look at a password behind a person who enter it.
They also look for clues to a password in litter or notes.
It is not enough only to put papers in the shredder because they would manage to fix them.
In addition, they often get information as they pretend to be a user or customer on the phone.
When they want to get credit card information, they tend to pretend a police or the card company.

It is easy to get out the secret if people do not make sure who calls them and the rule to protect secret information are not enough.

Designs of Mac Computers

The designs of Mac computers fascinate many people.
I still remember the impact on iMac G3 about ten years ago.
I was surprised because it was very cool and modern at that time.
The body was clear and bulging, and it had many varieties of color: red, orange, blue, green, and purple.
I had not imagined that such a new innovative computer would appear.
Many people said they wanted one.

Today’s iMac is also cool and creative.
It is not multicolored, but the shape became thin and the fusion of straight lines and curved lines is excellent.
Actually, Mac computers have been designed by Jonathan Ive team, who also designed ipod and iphone.
His works were highly valued, so he got several prizes.

The PC Tragedy at 3 a.m.

"No way!!!"
My terrible story about a computer was about a year ago.

I was typing a book report fast.
I started it at midnight even though the deadline was hanging.
In addition, I have not finished reading Jamaica Inn yet, so I was writing as I read the book.
I was in a hurry, so I clicked too much.
Suddenly, the PC has been freezing!! My brain has also been freezing.
It was at 3 a.m. I did not know how to fix it, and have any other computer.
Unfortunately, the class started at 8:30.
“No way!!! What should I do!?” I was nearly crying.
However, I came up with a good idea. I took a bath, dressed, read the book, copied the report from the screen in a piece of paper as much as possible and waited for the first train.

At 5:30, I was typing so fast in Manboo, which is a comic book café.
I had realized that it had been possible to use computers there.
I could finish the report barely in time!
Now, I think I should have tried to press CTRL+S and ALT+CTRL+DEL and start the PC again.
